April is Dental Health Month at New Look Dental

Did you know April is Dental Health Month? We believe promoting better oral health is an essential part of leading a healthier, happier, and better quality of life. This national event, supported by the Canadian Dental Health Association, is an important cause to our entire team at New Look Dental.

Although we believe in educating patients year-round, National Oral Health month is an opportunity for all Canadians to take extra care and recognize the often understated impact oral health has on our overall well-being. Here are some great reasons National Oral Health Month is important to us and our patients.

April is Dental Health Month: Education, Prevention and Awareness

Good dental health ensures healthy teeth and gums, while also lowering your risk of chronic disease. Since April is Dental Health Month, we believe it’s a great time to educate and remind patients about the importance of daily oral habits. Healthy oral habits, such as daily brushing and flossing, and regular visits to your West Kelowna dental practice will make a huge difference in prevention.

We recognize that our dental practice has a crucial part in the fight against oral health illnesses and educating patients on preventive measuresCommon oral health disease, including tooth decay, gum disease, and even oral cancer are preventable when we maintain healthy oral habits.

April is Dental Health Month, which means bringing awareness to major oral health issues, including oral cancer. Early detection significantly increases a patient’s chance of survival, and detection typically begins with a visit to your dentist.  Providing patients with the best tools and awareness to effectively prevent disease is a big component of National Oral Health month.

If oral cancer is diagnosed, your dentist and doctor will create an individualized treatment plan based on a variety of factors, including which stage of oral cancer you are diagnosed with.

Regular visits to your West Kelowna Dental Clinic will ensure you have the tools to maintain healthy teeth and gums for your whole life.
