Is your child ready to visit the dentist?
There’s no reason to worry when it comes to taking your child to visit the dentist for the first time. The general guideline is that your child should have their first dental visit within 6 months of their first tooth erupting and no later than their first birthday. That said, if you are concerned about your child’s teeth in any way or have a family history that is causing concern, we recommend that you contact our office early to ensure your child’s teeth develop in good health and with the care they require.
What to expect during your child’s first dental visit
Your child’s first dental visit is an opportunity to learn a bit more about their smile and start developing healthy habits that can grow throughout life. The visit will involve a general oral examination, but it will be more focused on discussion and consultation to ensure you are confident and ready to help support your child’s oral health needs.
Together, it’s our goal to watch your child grow to love their smile with a positive outlook on their dental routine.
