Dr. Harry Clyde
Associate Dentist
Describe yourself in 3 word.
Easy-going, understanding, patient.
Who has influenced you the most?
I had two teachers in Grade 12 who encouraged me to pursue sciences at university and to always strive to do things to the best of my abilities.
What is the best compliment you’ve ever received?
Not so much a verbal complement, but when my staff who see my work day in and day out choose me for their own and their families dental work. Also, I love when a patient leaves after a procedure they’ve been nervous about and says “that wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be!”
What do you like to do in your spare time? Any hobbies or special interests?
To be honest, I’m pretty boring. I like working on my lawn, working out at the gym and just relaxing on my time off. I’m a big music buff and I like going to concerts. My wife and I enjoy travelling when we can.
Name: Harry Clyde
Position: General Dentist
Birthplace: Kelowna, BC
Astrological sign/birthday: Sept 18, Virgo
I graduated in 2017 from UBC’s dentistry program and practiced dentistry in northern Alberta for 6 years. Working in an under-served area allowed me to gain a lot of skills in a short amount of time in areas such as oral surgery and endodontics (root canals). To complement my interest in oral surgery, I completed the IV moderate sedation course at the University of Alberta in 2018 allowing me to comfortably treat anxious patients and patients requiring surgical procedures such as wisdom teeth removal. I’ve taken several continuing education courses and have extensive clinical experience in wisdom teeth removal, surgical extractions and endodontics.
What is your favourite thing about being a part of the New Look Dental team?
I enjoy how friendly, positive and fun all the staff members are.
What is your #1 for your patients?
I know the dental office isn’t a lot of people’s favourite place, especially when it involves extractions and root canals, so I always try my best to make each visit as comfortable as possible.
